Ledgitify connects to Xero using OAuth 2.0, the same secure standard Xero uses across its App Store. You approve access inside Xero, and Ledgitify never sees your Xero password.

Connect a Xero organisation

1

Start the connection

During sign-up, choose Sign up with Xero. Or, any time afterwards, open Settings → Xero and choose Connect Xero organisation. Connecting Xero requires the Owner or Admin role.
2

Approve access in Xero

You’re redirected to Xero to sign in and approve. Xero shows you exactly which permissions Ledgitify is requesting (all read-only) and which organisation you’re granting access to. If you belong to more than one Xero organisation, pick the one you want to connect.
3

You're connected

Xero sends you back to Ledgitify and your first sync begins automatically. Ledgitify stores a secure access token so it can keep your data up to date; it does not store your Xero login.

Connecting more than one organisation

A single Ledgitify user can connect several Xero organisations, one per Ledgitify organisation. Use the org switcher in the top navigation to move between them. This is designed for accountants and bookkeepers who manage multiple clients.

Sign in with Xero vs. being invited

You grant the full read-only accounting scopes so Ledgitify can sync your transactions on an ongoing basis. The access token is stored against your organisation.
When you join an existing Ledgitify organisation via an invite, Sign in with Xero is used only to confirm your identity (name and email). It requests identity scopes only. No accounting data is accessed and no token is stored for you, because your organisation is already connected by its owner.
Want to know precisely what each permission allows? See What Ledgitify accesses in Xero.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect at any time from Settings → Xero, which revokes Ledgitify’s access in Xero and stops all syncing. See Disconnecting Xero.
